National Child Passenger Safety Week

…is next week. This Oak Ridger article contains some good reminders about child safety; I would add that it is best to continue having children ride in the back seat long after they’ve outgrown booster seats. It was the law in Germany and we continued the practice upon our return to the states. The additional barrier provided by the front seat and the added distance from the front windshield are reasons enough to believe that it is just simply safer.

Of course, they’ll still need to wear their seatbelts or something like this could happen. (The link is to a British PSA from over 10 years ago that left a most lasting impression on me and is not for the faint of heart.)
