One of the best reasons to live in Oak Ridge is our 63 miles of greenway trails. The fully-paved segment that connects the Melton Lake Greenway to Haw Ridge Park has become a favorite with my family. Today, I rode a bike for the first time in probably 20 years. I forgot how fun that is! We also spotted a local celebrity when we stopped for a picnic lunch. Take a look!

Bret helped Mr. Griffith haul the broken glass down the road to the trash.

Look who we found! The famous Boyce Griffith and his wife! They'd found a huge pile of broken glass and were trying to clean it all up. The paved trail connects to a number of the non-paved trails. I took Stormy on this one and she LOVED it!

Any wild goats left up on Haw Ridge? I can’t recall when I last heard of a sighting.

I also enjoy the Melton Lake Greenway/HAW Ridge. Need to do more of HAW Ridge when it isn’t muddy, and not get lost! I find it a tad hard to navigate at HAW Ridge on the trails. So many of them overlap it gets a bit confusing.
