July 14, 2021 – Iceland Day 6

We awoke to a dreary, rainy day. I drove us back into Husavik and took a brief stroll and video of the harbor. There was very little open at 10am and we were in need of a hot shower and better accommodations, so we headed south west to Akureyri.
We arrived in Akureyri around 11am and immediately spotted the yacht in the harbor that we’d seen the night before in Husavik.
We were now halfway through our trip and about three-quarters of the way around the Ring Road. (though, technically, Akureyri is not on the Ring Road). We found a small apartment for rent in the town center and used the day to just chill and rest up. The apartment owners also owned a lovely bar/restaurant (Centrum Kitchen & Bar) around the corner, where we ate dinner.
